ICICI Venture has provided a grant funding to Rang De which will be
deployed as loans to micro-entrepreneurs and as investments in
sustainable initiatives such as clean lighting and rural tourism.
While the corporate decides how the money is deployed, we are
exploring an initiative to involve the employees by engaging them in
making social investments and mentoring the micro-entrepreneurs. |

Being based in Chennai, Spark Capital preferred that their social
investment was made in and around Chennai. Their first social
investment was thus made to entrepreneurs from Vandavasi, close to
100 kms from Chennai. The corporate's repayments are now being
deployed as loans in other states such as Orissa. |

|
Education is close to the heart of this Chennai based company. So
their obvious choice of social investment was towards education
loans. The company invested in educationloans for children from the
Charminar area. Repayments will be invested based on the preference
of the company. |

|
Known for their expertise in providing gold loans, the group has
provided a corporate social investment to Rang De which is being
deployed as loans to micro-entrepreneurs across different states in
India. |

|
Began the CSR engagement with Rang De by creating awareness amongst
their employees about Rang De. Employees were given Rang De
Experiencce vouchers which could be redeemed to understand how the
initiative works. This was followed by a Corporate social investment
by the company itself which is deployed when there is a deficit of
social investments on Rang De. |
