Rang De would like to inform you that Rang De is a registered non profit organisation and is purely a facilitator of the process of microlending. When you invest in a borrower on Rang De, you are actually lending to Rang De’s Partner organisation – a microfinance institution that has been involved in providing loans to people at the grassroots level. Rang De has done a Due Diligence of the partners and given them a performance rating based on checks. However, you can use these ratings as a rough guide to help you invest. There could be defaults when borrowers are unable to repay the loan due to reasons like natural causes, health reasons or other unavoidable circumstances. Rang De will make an attempt to provide you with reasons for default, but this may not be always possible.
Due Diligence FAQs
How does Rang De partner with microfinance Institutions?
Rang De follows a process: Get initial information about the Partner- type of entity, objectives, financial support, funding sources.
Field visit: Visit the operational area of the microfinance institution. Talk to the borrowers regarding service, interest rates, and loan requirements.
Initial partnership proposal: stating the role of Rang De and role of the Partner. It is stated clearly in the agreement that is the Partner’s responsibility to disburse loans and collect repayments.
What happens when a Partner is charged of misconduct?
Rang De will blacklist the partner and will not have future transactions with the Partner.
What happens in case a borrower is unable to repay?
Our field partners are responsible for disbursals and repayments of the loans. Most of the field partners have a track record of 100% repayment. However, there may be instances where there are partial defaults and rarely a complete default.
