| Poornima made incense sticks (Agarbatti) to supplement her husband's income as a painter. She then decided to take a loan to expand her business. However, her plans changed once she received the loan. She decided to buy a cycle rickshaw instead and give it out on hire. This ensured a steady income of twenty rupees a day, leaving her with more time to attend to household chores. Poornima still continues to make agarbattis in small lots from her savings. She now has two businesses to handle. |

| Poornima?s husband paints homes and other interiors. He makes around Rs.3000 a month but his income varies greatly every month. Poornima started making incense sticks to earn a living and to provide some stability to their finances. A small loan will help her to buy the required raw materials and ear even better. |
