Skill and patience

Noori Noor Khan helps her husband in his business. Their tiny hut has stacks of wooden poles, bamboo sticks and other paraphernalia that go into the making of a specialised part for a hand loom. Converting the raw wooden sticks into these delicate parts of the loom is highly labour intensive and takes immense skill. The finished parts are sold to the retailers.
How has the loan helped? "We could not have bought the raw materials without the loan, as the money gets blocked for a long time." says Noori, "We now have a steady income." Back
