The term "social business" baffles many as the two words seem an antithesis of each one individually. However it cannot be more appropriate, as the term itself clearly defines what it is- a business with a social objective.
If a social cause is its driving force and it operates on a not-for-profit model, then why call it a business at all? That is because it must be self-sustainable, and not depend on charity alone. The profits made by the company will stay with the company to further business and will not be paid as dividends and never lose sight of its social objective.
Rang De is a social business that sticks to these principles and Smita'sblog explains our business model and our commitment to the cause. So let's work together in spreading the word about Rang De – infact you could send your friends this newsletter as a conversation- starter. Close
