Ulkunda Tarun Seva Sangh (UTSS) was founded with the objective to develop an equitable society with economic and social independence. Against this backdrop UTSS in its mission to reach out to the communities have strived to reach more and more people. Under its microfinance programme the organization helps disadvantaged communities, mainly women to form Self Help Groups. This Self Help Groups inculcates the habit of savings among the members.

Bardhaman or Burdwan, is a city of West Bengal state in eastern India. Burdwan has a multi-cultural heritage and is known for its temples with unique architectural styles, the district has its own share of problems. UTSS works in Burdwan as well as in the district of Hooghly reaching out to communities with microcredit and livelihood support.
