Vatipota Alms Mission (VAM) is a grass-root level registered, non-political, secular Non-Government Organization (NGO) and is engaged in the upliftment of standard of living of both the rural and urban people. The organisation has been providing small but significant support in terms of economic and socio-economic upliftment of the rural poor through SHG (Self Help Group) formation and the micro-credit method.

Bardhaman or Burdwan, is a city of West Bengal state in eastern India. It is the headquarters of Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia, Hoogly & Bardhaman District. Burdwan has a multi-cultural heritage. Known for its temples with unique architectural styles, the district has its own share of problems. VAMS works with communities that do not have access to credit in the area.
