Guardians of Dreams is a Bangalore based social enterprise set up to build effective, scalable childcare solutions that focus on 'at risk' youth residing in shelter homes in Bangalore and Cochin. The organization’s short-term strategy includes renovating existing shelter homes, providing scholastic award to promising children, and ensuring that Government issued ID cards are made available to all children currently residing in shelter homes in Bangalore and Cochin.
The organization has approached Rang De for a loan of Rs. 7.5 lakhs, that will be utilized to provide scholastic awards to 150 bright students who have excelled in their 10+2 exams despite the odds being heavily stacked against them. These children come from single parent households or have lost contact with their families. Despite these disadvantages, the 150 students who have been selected for the award have all scored more than 60% in their qualifying exam.
The scholastic award, which will be given in cohorts (first cohort has been given to the scholarship students in August 2017), will enable them to pursue higher studies and capitalize on the efforts they have put in reaching thus far. Your support will ensure that these bright sparks continue to shine and illuminate the world around them.
*Guardians of Dreams will repay the loan amount through 24 monthly instalments. The repayment will be raised through a network of its existing donors and supporters.
