Raoshanara Mallik and her husband reside in a village near Mathurapur town of WB. The couple has been engaged in a poultry farming venture to earn income for their family expenses. They buy hen chicks, their fodder and medicine, etc. from nearby wholesale dealer and after taking good care of them for nearly one month, sell them to local people with some margin. They have been running this business successfully on a door to door basis for the last 8 yrs. Raoshanara now wants to expand the business further by availing a loan of Rs.15,000/-. She plans to use the money in purchasing larger number of chicks and other required raw materials to grow her earnings from this venture. She has availed three loans before also but repaid them all in time.
