Tongbram Naobi Devi's family includes her husband and 3 children; 2 sons and a daughter. They live in the Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai village of Manipur where Naobi's husband is a driver. All their children are also working and earning as a musician, weaver and a painter respectively. Since a decade Naobi has been weaving from home to add to the family income. She weaves strip mekhalas locally known as “Phanek Mapanaibi” and manages to earn a decent monthly income.

Naobi has always made sure that the designs that she weaves are very innovative and unique which has kept her in business. She has now decided to scale her business up and has applied for a loan for the same. She wants to buy the required raw materials in wholesale rates. She will sell the finished products to the local traders at whole sale prices and to the local customers at retail rates.
