Rang De (RangDe.org) is an award winning, technology driven non-profit social enterprise that supports rural entrepreneurs with access to low cost credit through its web-based peer-to- peer crowdfunding platform. Since January 2008, Rang De has reached out to around 60,000 entrepreneurs across 18 states with more than 14,000 individuals across the world having become Changemakers to fight poverty in India so far.

In the last 10 years, the team has been able to raise and disburse contributions to tune of over Rs. 759 million to 65,000 + households across India and a repayment track record of close to 94.83%.

We are looking for an experienced Thought Leader in Finance to head the Finance team as a Chief Financial Officer or CFO. The candidate will overall be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance as well as negotiations. The CFO job description will also extend to obtaining and maintaining investor relations and partnership compliance.

The goal is to protect the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.

As the CFO of Rang De, your role would include:

  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for the Group
  • Continually reviews work practices and procedures for better operational efficiency; and potential issues in accounts, financial processes and controls and proactively raise management attention to act and resolve
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Provide commercial insight and leadership across the business in order to exceed business plan targets
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management, external partners and stakeholders
  • Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related procedures

Key Skills:

  • University degree in accounting or with ACCA and a CA/CPA.
  • At least 7+ years of financial/project management/accounting experience within an international organization, multinational company, University or charity with complex donor requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Developed financial management/accounting skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to set priorities.
  • Good knowledge of GAPP, IAS, SAS and IFRS
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills.

We at Rang De are looking for an experienced growth strategist to head our marketing and growth team. The Head of Growth will be responsible for spearheading an ambitious new targeted growth strategy for the organization that will exponentially increase our visibility and grow our Social Investor base. This role is a cross functional role and will involve working with teams across functions including technology, product, marketing and content teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

For the Head of Growth position at Rang De, we are looking at an individual who has expertise in the areas of branding, communications and digital marketing.

  • Building marketing strategies to acquire new users to the platform in a scalable and cost effective way
  • Create strategies for retaining users on the platform and oversee the communication through the app and platform
  • Build strategic partnerships with brands where there is an alignment of values and target audience, run co-branded campaigns with them
  • Experimentation across various channels for user acquisition as well as retention
  • Oversee a team of young content writers, communication professionals, engagement managers and ensure they are motivated
  • Work with the product and technology team to analyse data with regard to user behaviour
  • Driving traffic to the website, landing pages, social media and apps
  • Prioritizing growth channels
  • Optimizing channels in order to always improve the performance of the business
  • Referral marketing and enabling virality

For an individual to excel in this, he/she will need to have the following:

  • A minimum of 6 years of managing branding and communications

  • Identifying newer opportunities for fund raising with a sharp focus on corporate partnerships and employee engagement
  • Develop and implement strategies to build empathetic partnerships with corporates that is also inline with their business goals
  • Identify and approach possible corporate and institutional funding partners and develop relationships with key decision makers
  • Build and maintain profitable, long-term fundraising relationships with current donors and potential donors

For this role, we are looking at an individual who has expertise in the below mentioned areas.

  • Impact Measurement: Measure and Report Rang De's impact on the communities and plan new interventions to deepen the impact.
  • Relationship Management: Work closely with NGO partners across India, build relationships and ensure that they can fulfil Rang De's mandate.
  • Manage Key Projects: Manage and report key impact related projects and report back to funding organizations.
  • Social Accounting: Lead the social accounting process to write the organization’s social accounts.
  • New Initiatives & partnerships: Explore uncharted opportunities and kick start new initiatives and associations.
  • Evaluation and Reviews of Field Partners.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and partner Portfolio Management.
  • Should have at least a year’s experience in Impact Analysis.
  • Should have a systematic working style; should be able to create new processes for better and effective functioning and should be able to streamline existing processes.
  • Knowledge of basic monitoring and evaluation principles; experience in designing, implementing and/or overseeing M & E frameworks is desirable.
  • Should have team management and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of innovation, technology, and strong business acumen are essential characteristics of the right candidate.
  • Good understanding of nonprofit finances and compliance related matters are necessary.

For an individual to excel in this, he/she will need to have the following:

  • A minimum of 8 + years of overall experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the Livelihood space.
  • Master's degree in social work or equivalent degree.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (including written, oral and interpersonal).
  • Should be open to travel, as this role would involve field visits at partner locations across the country and participating in conferences/events.
  • Knowledge of Hindi and English are a must and knowledge of any other Regional language would be added advantage .
  • Should be a self-starter and must have the ability to work without supervision.
  • High degree of empathy for social causes.
