A year ago, Ganesh was working for a factory. He quit his job to join Vigyan Ashram for a short term course. In this 3 month course he learnt Machine Engineering and Fabrication. And with hope, confidence and faith in himself and his plans, he decided to set up a workshop of his own.
With the plan for setting up the workshop all ready, Ganesh started his journey. He sold almost all the ornaments in the house but was still falling short of the required capital. The banks were not willing to loan his idea as there was nothing to mortgage. Denied but not disheartened, Ganesh was desperately looking for ways to arrange for the capital when Vigyan Ashram connected him to Rang De.
Ganesh has, since then, been climbing the steps to a better livelihood standard without a stop. He took a place for rent in Pargaon where he has set his shop. He used to earn a decent Rs.10,000 to Rs.12,000 when he was working in the factory. Now he earns a minimum of Rs.30,000 every month. He pays a Rs.3,000 rent for the place, Rs.7,000 to a colleague whom he has employed and also the light bill which is close to Rs.6,000 - 7,000.
